Full Job Description

Work closely with a specific student to provide personalised support and ensure they have the best possible learning experience.,

  • Provide one-on-one support to a designated student, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Assist the student with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Implement personalised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the classroom teacher and special education coordinator.
  • Help manage the student's behavior and emotional needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student during classroom activities, group work, and field trips.
  • Monitor and report on the student's progress and development to teachers and parents.
  • Facilitate communication between the student and teachers, ensuring the student understands instructions and expectations.
  • Encourage the student's social integration and participation in school activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.

    Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a rapport with the student.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student and classroom environment.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in special education or working with children with specific learning needs.
  • Training in behaviour management techniques.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and tools.
  • First Aid certification.
