Full Job Description

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Construction at HMP Channings Wood.

This role is full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

We are pleased to now be able to offer a 'Golden Hello' payment of up to £4,000 for any successful candidate for this position.

Day to day duties

-Organisational and administrative work.
-Preparation, assessment and marking.
-Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
-Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.

A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
-All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
-Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
-Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.

Located in Devon, HMP Channings Wood is an acclaimed Category C men's prison operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The facility, focused on security and safeguarding, includes a main site and a vulnerable prisoner's unit. It possesses four industrial workshops, vocational training courses, educational activities, and comprehensive offending behaviour programs.
