Full Job Description

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, on a Maternity Cover basis. Day to day duties

  • Organisational and administrative work
  • Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitorindividuallearnerprogress.
  • Enriching learning through additional projects and broader activity beyond the qualification delivery
  • Developing positive learner experience on all courses, HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT. Additionally, comprehensive vocational training equips individuals with valuable skills and qualifications in wood machining, printing, laundry, retail, kitchen operations, farming, gardening, and fitness. Leyhill takes pride in its personalized approach, offering programs in personal development, social skills, and life management to assist residents nearing their release. Qualified individuals may also benefit from temporary release licenses, enabling them to gain work experience, prepare for transition, or reconnect with their families.     Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Functional Skills (English) at HMP Leyhill., A Degree, or professional qualification which is appropriate to the work.
