Wiltshire College & University Centre is looking for a passionate, industry-savvy Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering to inspire and prepare the next generation of motorsport engineers working between our Chippenham campus and our specialist Motorsport teaching centre located trackside at Castle Combe racecourse. We are seeking someone with an extensive understanding of motorsport engineering, cutting-edge automotive technology, and a passion for education. As a Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering, you'll play a vital role in our high-performing Motorsport Engineering department, delivering engaging lectures and hands-on workshops to students on our Motorsport Engineering courses. Our program emphasises practical, industry-relevant skills, and your expertise will guide students from classroom concepts to track-ready solutions. This role offers a unique balance of teaching, mentorship, and research, with the chance to collaborate with industry leaders and use state-of-the-art resources, including our dedicated motorsport workshop and simulation facilities. Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering - Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and Inspire: Deliver high-quality lectures, labs, and workshops that bring motorsport engineering principles to life.
- Curriculum Development: Design and update course materials to reflect the latest innovations and best practices in motorsport engineering.
- Student Mentorship: Support and inspire students in both their academic and career development.
- Industry Engagement: Build relationships with key industry partners and encourage opportunities for student placements, projects, and internships.
- Research & Innovation: Lead or contribute to research projects that keep Wiltshire College & University Centre at the forefront of motorsport engineering education.
Qualifications: A degree in Motorsport Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A teaching qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from those willing to gain this qualification. - Experience: Relevant industry experience in motorsport or automotive engineering, ideally with a hands-on understanding of race car technology, systems engineering, or vehicle dynamics.
- Passion for Education: You're enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and guiding students through technical challenges, projects, and competitions.
