Full Job Description
As a Legal Advisor, you'll play a key role in a wide range of exciting projects, collaborating with experts across Europe and beyond. Your responsibilities will include:
- Tech & Supplier Contracts: Advise, draft, and negotiate complex technology-related agreements, from IT/data licensing and cloud services to AI and SaaS, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks in banking.
- Commercial Contracts: Negotiate and draft general commercial contracts, including joint ventures and white-label agreements with third-party finance providers.
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the legal teams across the UK and Europe on major pan-European initiatives.
- Legal Support to the UK Risk Team: Provide critical support to the UK Risk Department and Ford Credit Britain, from reviewing security held by Ford dealers to negotiating Deeds of Priority and handling wholesale security matters.
- Banking Regulatory Projects: Contribute to key regulatory projects, including CRD6, and advise on legal compliance across the banking sector.
- Implementation of Legal & Regulatory Changes: Partner with the business team to seamlessly integrate legal and regulatory updates into operations.
To thrive in this role, you'll need to be a qualified UK Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4-10 years PQE (though we're open to considering other PQE levels for the right candidate). We're looking for someone who has: - Expertise in commercial and technology outsourcing within the banking sector , with a solid understanding of PRA and EBA regulations , DORA , and Data Privacy .
- Experience working in private practice or (preferably) in-house in the banking industry , with a keen understanding of the ins and outs of financial law.
- A background in asset finance (motor finance experience is a plus).
- Strong leadership skills to manage and deliver multiple transactions effectively.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset , able to tackle complex issues head-on and make confident, commercially sound decisions.
- The ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and concisely to management and colleagues at all levels.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and a collaborative attitude, engaging with colleagues from all departments.
- A deep understanding of customer fairness and how to ensure it is embedded in everything you do.
- A strong academic background and top-tier legal training to match your professional experience.
