We are looking for a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to work within The Orchard classroom, our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). You will be working alongside the Teacher and other Learning Support Assistants with a small group of pupils who have Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will need:

• To establish good working relationships with the class teacher and SENDCO
• To work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment
• To support the delivery of learning activities and support pupils 1 to 1 and in a group during these activities.
• To promote positive values and attitudes
• To communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
• To monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed
• To prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use
• NVQ Level 2 Qualification in supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is a requirement
• Good Numeracy and Literacy skills
• Makaton training would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Good knowledge of the curriculum
• The ability to support children at all levels, but particularly children with SEN.
• Commitment to working within a team to continue to provide quality services for our children and families
