Full Job Description

Under the guidance of the person leading the learning, undertake scheduled curriculum and/or care support duties that enable learners to access their learning through improving their study skills, developing strategies to overcome their difficulties and fostering independence and self-determination. You will also offer pastoral support and guidance as necessary to groups or individual learners and support the Trainer/Facilitator with behaviour management both in and outside the classroom. You will be expected to mark and assess learner's portfolios and be required to attend Welcome, Enrolment and Induction days and support any evening classes.

The successful candidate will need to have a good level of Maths and English (such as Level 4 and above or equivalent) alongside a Level 2 Certificate in Learning Support (such as City & Guilds 9297) OR to be willing to undertake the programme of appropriate study. You will also need experience of working with disengaged young people, have accurate spelling and written communication, be passionate, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental.
