Full Job Description

We are looking for a Litigation Assistant/ Paralegal to join our Serious Injury Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) Team in Leeds. Our Team The team represents a diverse group of victims, including those who have suffered from violent attacks, abuse (including sexual abuse), terrorism, and human trafficking. The team were involved in a landmark case that established grooming as a crime of violence. The team frequently represents victims at appeal and specialises in cases involving children with non-accidental brain injuries. Your Role and What You'll Be Doing As a Litigation Assistant, you'll support case handlers by performing complex administrative duties to progress cases through the court process. This role is busy and demanding, with diverse duties and no two days being the same. You'll work in a team that specialises in claiming compensation from the government for victims of violence through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). You'll regularly liaise with a wide range of clients and professionals, both over the phone and in writing. Whether arranging meetings, seeking medical reports, or chasing information, you'll need to maintain a sensitive and professional approach at all times. Responsibilities:

  • You'll handle a lot of administrative tasks, high-volume cases, and support fee-earning activities.
