Full Job Description

This important role supports the sales team with the technical aspects of projects and includes working on site to lead the team and produce the more complex elements of projects. The role forms the link between sales and the delivery of a project, working with our account management, operations, technical and warehouse teams, as well as the Client, mapping out what can be achieved technically and identifying risks.

This role will ensure the technical elements are considered and managed for each event, starting from the creation of a brief and finishing when the event de-brief has been completed.

To be effective, you will need to manage various stakeholders, provide leadership and direction, and solve problems when they arise.

Responsibilities

  • You will work alongside colleagues providing technical guidance and assistance with quoting to meet clients' budgets

  • You will produce detailed technical schematics and relevant documentation

  • You will identify risks to successful delivery, discuss, share with other departments and produce contingency plans

  • You will go to site with installation teams and manage the implementation of an event

  • You will communicate with the event organiser on site, coordinating all activity with them

  • On a more strategic level, you will work with senior management and other colleagues to find new and better ways of working smarter and more efficiently

Have you worked for several years as a Senior Technician in live events? Then this could be the role for you. In addition to the above, in order to be successful with your application, we would expect you to have the following:

  • A high degree of competence in sound and/or video for live events with a reasonable understanding of lighting

  • Proven experience in technical roles, working within the live events industry, either as an employee or a freelancer

  • Good planning skills - being able to plan technical requirements and associated people resources

  • First class interpersonal skills - especially regarding meeting management and written communications

  • Strong team skills with the ability to work with a variety of professionals from different disciplines producing live events

  • Naturally pro-active instincts, with a hunger for inspiring change and operational improvement

  • Excellent all-round end-user IT skills

  • Experience providing technical services to virtual events would be an advantage

  • If the above sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!

The services our business provides generally take place on weekdays, although some weekend working will be required, and there is a high degree of flexibility regarding working hours, as well as an understanding that this is not a 9-5 job.

In terms of work location, the nature of this role requires a high degree of collaboration with colleagues in different departments so it will be performed predominantly in the office or on-site when delivering events, but there is scope for working from home on an ad hoc basis.,
