Full Job Description
We're looking for a practical, passionate conservation professional to join our team as a Living Landscape Officer. This is a hands-on role where you'll help manage our nature reserves and other wild places across Cheshire. You'll work within a team of knowledgeable, open minded and positive people delivering a range of project-based outputs including habitat creation, restoration and management, overseeing infrastructure projects and supporting volunteer activities. Whether it's organising grazing, planning surveying and monitoring or overseeing the work of contractors - your work will directly contribute to creating a Wilder Cheshire by 2030.
We're looking for someone who brings practical land management experience, a solid understanding of UK habitats and species, and confidence in using tools, coordinating volunteers, and managing contractors. You'll ideally hold relevant vocational qualifications (chainsaw, pesticide use, etc.) and have at least two years' experience in a similar role. But just as important is a proactive, can-do approach and the self-motivation for learning and growth within a team of likeminded people. You'll also be organised, a great communicator, and committed to collaborative working across the Trust - including supporting communities in shaping their local natural spaces.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible impact for wildlife across Cheshire. You'll be part of a supportive team that values energy, initiative, and a shared commitment to nature's recovery. If you're motivated by action, not just ideas, and ready to take the lead on practical delivery that makes a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
At Cheshire Wildlife Trust we embrace agile working with a focus on supporting you to achieve your objectives alongside a healthy work-life balance. We operate a hybrid working policy with most staff working at least part of the week from home and/or out on site.
