Full Job Description

Applications are invited for two 12 month and one 8 month fixed term locum Consultant post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The appointee must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with a License to Practice.
The appointee will be expected deliver high quality care to the patients presenting to the Department. This will include those patients presenting to planned appointments (e.g. gynaecology clinic/antenatal clinic) and those presenting acutely for emergency services.
Please note that this post is to cover sickness/absence therefore the on call will be of an increased frequency. No programmed activity occurs in the day following on call to allow for rest. During non-resident hours, it is expected that the on-call consultant is within 10 miles (or 30 minutes) of the hospital site. On call room can be booked in advance, if needed., + Provide a high-quality service for women presenting with gynaecological issues both within the outpatients and inpatients setting.
+ To be actively involved in the management and decision making for women whose pregnancies and labours have become complicated.
+ To be available during the working week so that medical and midwifery staff can communicate and consult freely.
+ To ensure that concise, agreed management plans are clearly displayed in the notes of all patients.
+ To assist the multi-disciplinary team in the production of referenced, evidence based guidelines.
+ The rota is based on a 1:16 basis with prospective cover. Gynaecology on call is offered as a 'hot week' of Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday cover from 0830-1730 on a 1:16 week basis, again with prospective cover for annual and study leave., We are committed to equal opportunities and want to ensure our workforce is representative of the population we serve.
