Our stunning natural environment provides the perfect backdrop for a fulfilling career, and as Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring that our facilities remain a safe and welcoming space for everyone., We're looking for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager who is ready to take on the critical task of keeping our facilities, grounds, and equipment in top condition. This is a role where you can make a tangible difference, ensuring that every visitor's experience is safe, enjoyable, and memorable. What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings, grounds, and outdoor spaces, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and looking its best.
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program to keep our facilities running smoothly and to nip any potential issues in the bud.
  • Perform hands-on repairs or coordinate with trusted contractors for more specialised work, covering everything from plumbing and electrical to carpentry.
  • Champion health and safety at the Centre, ensuring all activities are compliant and risks are minimised.
  • Lead and inspire small maintenance team and volunteers, providing the guidance and support they need to excel in their roles.
  • Keep a close eye on the maintenance budget, ensuring we're getting the best value without compromising quality.
  • Maintain a well-organised inventory of tools and materials, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Plan and execute maintenance projects, from renovations to new installations, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Be the go-to person for maintenance emergencies, acting quickly to resolve issues and keep the Centre running smoothly.
  • Managing training and keeping relevant records up to date.

    A solid background in maintenance management, ideally in a similar environment such as education, leisure, or hospitality.
  • Expertise in plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance, with the ability to get hands-on when needed.
  • A strong grasp of health and safety regulations, with experience in risk assessments and safety protocols.
  • Proven management skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a small team effectively.
  • Quick-thinking and resourceful, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in planning and executing projects on time and within budget.
  • Competence in using maintenance management software and general IT systems., NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Operations or equivalent.
  • City & Guild Trade Qualification
  • First Aid at Work certification.
