Full Job Description
The role of Maintenance Scheduler is a role within Engineering & Estates Maintenance in Estates Services, reporting to one of the Maintenance Planners in the Engineering & Asset Management Team. The post holder will be responsible for organising and supervising the delivery of engineering planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities in line with contractual agreements. The post holder will be motivated and enthusiastic with relevant maintenance experience with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards. They will support the wider Operations teams in the development of processes, controls and reporting and will support a culture of safety and compliance. The Engineering & Asset Management Team is responsible for the maintenance of M&E assets across the University functional estate. The estate comprises a wide variety of buildings from Grade 1 listed buildings to world class science research buildings. M&E systems and assets are also varied in age and complexity, with assets providing critical support to the activities within a building.
- Suitable relevant qualifications in an engineering / building services discipline. (Completed apprenticeship and or HNC/HND in Engineering Disciplines).
- Substantial experience of contractor management and planned preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.
- A clear understanding and commitment to Health and Safety.
- Supervisory skills and experience including evidence of problem solving and ability to influence and persuade others to in order achieve a positive result.
- Excellent organisational behaviours and ability to plan and prioritise workload for self.
- Good written communication skills, and the ability to produce reports that may be read and understood by a range of non-specialist audiences.
- Effective inter-personal skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate at all levels with tact, diplomacy and openness.
- Ability to contribute to change through recommending and implementing new processes.
