Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Specialist to focus on working with male victims and survivors to join the team across West Yorkshire in either our Shipley or Wakefield office, working 37.5 hours a week., This role is based in Wakefield and will require travel around West Yorkshire. This is a fixed term position until 31/3/2026. As an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor with a focus on supporting male victims & survivors you will:

  • Provide ongoing support to victims of sexual violence with a focus on developing services for male victims
  • Manage a high volume caseload offering non-therapeutic support to victims/survivors both face-to-face or via telephone/text and or email bases on client preference
  • Attend relevant meetings & give talks and presentations to local groups
  • Develop networks & partnerships to increase the role of the service in the community
  • Conduct risk assessments to assess the specific needs of people & develop individual service plans to address identified risks & needs
  • Be an advocate for sexual violence survivors/victims, working to promote their confidence, resilience & empowerment

  • Good communication skills both verbally & in writing for a variety of audiences
