Full Job Description

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the Accounting team by delivering insightful management reporting to the business. From processing month-end journals to reviewing management accounts, you'll provide valuable analytical support to drive informed decision-making. A significant focus will be on Fixed Assets reviews, contributing to comprehensive Balance Sheet analysis and ensuring robust financial oversight.,

  • Take ownership of posting month-end journals to ledgers, ensuring everything aligns seamlessly with the month-end timetable.
  • Deliver clear and insightful balance sheet reconciliations, complete with detailed commentary and analysis to illuminate key account balances and movements.
  • Champion the principles of simplification, standardisation, and automation to streamline processes and enhance efficiency wherever possible.
  • Proactively identify and report key risks and opportunities to the Senior Management Accountant and Financial Controller, providing critical insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed audit and tax schedules, responding promptly and effectively to audit queries with accurate explanations.
  • Uphold SOX compliance across all processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational standards.

    Deliver a clean year-end balance sheet position with minimal audit adjustments.
  • Consistently meet month-end reporting deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop a strong understanding of systems and processes, providing actionable recommendations for improvements.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A keen eye for detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • A proactive mindset that embraces change, values collaboration, and contributes ideas confidently.
  • Professional Experience:
  • Part-qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience in Fixed Asset accounting.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and Travel:
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other UK sites as needed.
