Job Description POSITION: Marketing Assistant REPORTING TO: Chief Marketing Officer JOB PURPOSE: The Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the marketing, social media and press strategy for Sonia Friedman Productions and designated productions. The Role We are looking for an exceptional individual with flawless administrative and organisational skills for the position of Marketing Assistant based at our extremely busy production office in Covent Garden. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate discretion, diplomacy and a keen eye for detail. They will be able to manage a large and diverse workload with the ability to prioritise tasks and projects. A background in marketing is essential, with at least two years' experience of either production office, or a marketing agency. The successful candidate will have a "can-do" attitude, be numerate and highly proficient in Excel and Word. They will be friendly, enthusiastic and share a passion for theatre. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and collaborate across all facets of marketing, sales and ticketing, social media, and communications for SFP and designated SFP productions, contributing to the successful promotion of our theatrical portfolio.
  • Arrange regular meetings with marketing agencies, press teams, producers, co-producers, and Sonia's assistant, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed on production timelines and marketing initiatives.
  • Collate and brief external agencies with required artwork, maintaining consistency across campaigns and ensuring brand integrity.
  • Coordinate and keep on top of deadlines and deliverables to ensure all projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Attend marketing meetings to stay updated with each production's strategy, development, and key milestones, enhancing your understanding of the broader campaign landscape.
  • Be aware of significant industry dates and show milestones, notifying the team of any potential conflicts or opportunities to amplify our campaigns.
  • Review and proofread ticket agent buttons, banners, and artwork in multiple formats, ensuring adherence to size specifications, contractual obligations, and accuracy across platforms.
  • Regularly review and update show websites to reflect the latest in copy, casting, and reviews, ensuring alignment with production changes and continuity across digital assets.
  • Guarantee that all SFP show content and copy are accurate, up-to-date, and reflect the most recent production developments.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Assist the Brand and Marketing Manager in compiling statistics for monthly digital reports, including social media performance, email campaigns, and website analytics to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Support marketing agencies by managing review pulls, maintaining an up-to-date, organised quote sheet for each production.
  • Efficiently manage relevant documents on the SFP M drive, ensuring clear and current filing systems for easy access and up-to-date resources.
  • Regularly review, audit, and update SFP web content and Wikipedia entries, enhancing accuracy and consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Cultivate a strong understanding of our audiences and the theatre industry, leveraging insights to support targeted and effective marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in theatre and the performing arts, contributing enthusiasm and industry knowledge to campaigns.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with trends and best practices in marketing, ensuring the ability to meet the evolving needs of the role, team, and organisation.

  • SFP is a fluid organisation, fast moving and rapidly changing business; as such you may be required to undertake duties which are in line with the general purpose of this job description, but which are not specifically referred to.
  • Due to the nature of this role some evening and weekend work will be required, and you may be asked to work additional hours from time to time.
