Full Job Description

Tameside Council recognises the role of our markets in delivering and enhancing the cultural life and vibrancy of the town centres that our Markets are at the heart of; they provide a space in which communities can come together, access services, enjoy leisure activities and shop. To support this we are seeking to appoint a Markets Events and Communications Manager to lead in delivering a high quality, and vibrant markets events program within the borough of Tameside

The Council is committed to improving the town centres within the Borough, with a number of our towns about to undergo transformative improvement works following the Council's success in securing significant funding from the Government. These improvements will see Tameside's market offer revitalised and evolved to meet the needs of modern day and thriving market towns with additional events and activity. The successful applicant will play an important role in supporting the delivery of these improvements.

You will be responsible for leading and managing a varied and vibrant Market Events and Communications program targeting the fulfilment of the services markets strategy.

This is an opportunity for a driven and self-motivated individual to join our markets team. You must relish change and challenges and be familiar with both delivering and managing events. You must be an active problem solver and be able to bring creative ideas to the table and actively participate in discussion and planning of activities.
