Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and modelling suite components of products to meet programme requirements, while ensuring designs meet cost and weight targets
  • Participating in design reviews during each phase of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Selection and application of appropriate materials and processes for each element
  • Ensuring successful integration of each design element within the product, participating in its validation (using methods such as prototyping, testing, and DFMEA)
  • Delivering design solutions within agreed schedules and budgets
  • Communicating effectively with customers, suppliers, and OEMs throughout the design process
  • Following and contributing to the development of Best Practice guidelines
  • Checking engineering packages of work from other designers and offshore teams
  • Preparing drawings and models for approval.

    Previous experience and knowledge of aircraft / automotive seat design and surfaces is required
  • Solid design engineering track record
  • Proficient with 3D CAD / CATIA / Smarteam
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing methods and design for manufacturing and assembly
  • BMS Documentation - ECRs / Engineering changes experience
  • Excellent communication skills
