Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time medical secretary to work within St Johns Hospice. The role involves providing an efficient secretarial and administrative support service to the Consultants and members of the medical team within the care group. The post holder will be expected to work using their initiative whilst working in partnership with key agencies. Communication and team working are essential skills to succeed in this role. The post holder will work Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 4.30pm within the Specialist Palliative Care Team.,

  • To be responsible for providing a confidential, efficient and effective medical secretary service to the Care Group Consultants and members of the medical team.
  • Production of written correspondence including reports, letters from dictation, written and audio to a high standard in agreed timescales
  • Ensure a high standard of communication at all times with internal and external service users and partner agencies.
  • To be responsible for the supervision of band 2 Administration Assistants/Receptionists/Ward Clerks.
