Full Job Description
To provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial support service for the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Foot Service (MDFS) and Podiatry Department.
To work in close co-operation with other medical secretaries. To help deliver a high quality service to the Consultants and other health professionals within the MDFS and Podiatry.
To provide members of the Podiatry department with administrative and clerical support
To maintain a confidential and professional approach as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and new staff both face to face and on the telephone.
To be responsible for monitoring the quality of data input and ensure electronic and manual systems are maintained
The post holder will work unsupervised, prioritising work on a daily basis and will be expected to undertake the role flexibly
We are seeking an experienced dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our multi professional team as a Medical Secretary within the Podiatry Diabetes Foot Service.
The successful candidate will join an established Diabetes Foot Service and should have:
Secretarial / administration experience within an acute health care setting
The ability to be flexible and adaptable in working patterns
Excellent communication skills and excellent IT skills
Knowledge of the PAS system and other NHS packages is desirable although training will be given.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident in working as part of a busy team and initiative when working alone.
The candidate must be confident, reliable and outgoing, used to dealing with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
