Full Job Description
10 - 30 days of work including travel time in 2025/26 subject to oversight needs.
The role: Harrow International Schools Limited (HISL) licenses the Name and Badge of Harrow School to 12+ independently and privately owned schools around the world (currently in Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan and India with new schools planned to open in the US and Middle East). All schools in the Harrow Family of Schools reflect Harrow School's educational purpose, values, practice, strategy and philosophy in a way that is tailored to the needs of their local pupils. The Harrow brand represents a kitemark of quality in the international schools' market.
Reporting to HISL's Chief Education Officer, you will join an oversight team operating in a specific geography to conduct regular reviews of designated schools against carefully articulated Harrow Standards. You will report on a school's progress measured against the Harrow Standards. Working as part of an oversight team, the work will include pre-reading school self-assessments, termly reports and a range of data and 'dashboard' material from the schools, conducting meetings and visits, and contributing to oversight reports. For more information please review the job description attached as a separate document to this advertisement.
The skills: You will have a deep understanding of premium education in the UK, along with an understanding of UK safeguarding and child protection. Your demonstrable ability to forge strong professional relationships at board level and with middle and senior managers in schools will be hugely beneficial as you collaborate with the designated Schools in your care. You may have experience as a schools inspector, or have knowledge of international schools and how they differ from the standard UK model but your ability to communicate effectively in writing, demonstrating clarity and influence when expressing opinion will be essential. The role requires sufficient diary flexibility to allow for intermittent long-haul, international travel to visit schools in HISL's partner portfolio including the Middle East and/or South East Asia and early morning calls UK time for some time zones to provide remote oversight of them as required.
Closing date: Sunday 20 April 2025.
Applications will be processed as they are received and interviews may take place before the closing date, so early application is recommended.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are values that are important to us at Harrow. We believe in diversity of thought and actively welcome everyone regardless of their background to bring their valuable and relevant skills to our community.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All successful applicants must be willing to undergo enhanced child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service, and it is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
No member of staff will be able to start until these checks are complete and this process takes, on average, a month. Please plan accordingly.
