Full Job Description
The Migration Officer will support Ukrainian and Afghan customers to navigate life in the UK and support successful integration of adults and families. The position is designed for those who are passionate about helping vulnerable customers and ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance throughout their journey. The Migration Officer will provide direct assistance to Ukrainian and Afghan customers, with a focus on supporting them to be able to independently manage all aspects of independent living.
Candidates should have an understanding of diverse cultures and be sensitive to the unique challenges faced by Ukrainian and Afghan cohorts. You will need strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as being able to think critically to address clients needs as they arise. You will be required to manage multiple cases simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
This post will be fixed term for 2 years.
Immediately responsible to - Asylum & Immigration Coordinator
Location - Town Hall, Bury or any other base within the Borough as required
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
