Neighbourhood Group Worker in Fylde & Wyre
We have an exciting opportunity, for a Neighbourhood Group Worker, to join the Early Help Service in Fylde & Wyre, part of the Education and Childrens Services Directorate.
The Early Help Service enables children and families to access appropriate support as early as possible, to help them maintain their quality of life, prevent any problems getting worse and reduce the demand for specialist support services.
As a Neighbourhood Group Worker, you will deliver group work and drop-in support services at identified neighbourhood centre venues in the main and may contribute to supporting arrangements around group work delivery in other community settings or in partnership with other agencies as directed.
Neighbourhood Group Workers deliver high quality informal education, prevention and early intervention opportunities which help improve children and family outcomes. Group work will be targeted to those most in need of support and focus on addressing needs identified as barriers to children and family progression. Group workers seek to increase parental capacity to improve the welfare of their children and improve children's resilience. Information and support provided through group work will help parents to make informed decisions for their families and impact positively on children being able to reach their potential.
The role of a Neighbourhood Group Worker is a varied role, which includes the delivery of group work to Early Childhood (0-5), The Developing Child (5-11), and Parenting and Family Support in one of our Neighbourhood Centres across the Fylde and Wyre Area.
The Neighbourhood Group worker is able to take on the responsibility and support with the planning, reviewing and implementation of groups to those most in need of support and focus on addressing the needs identified as barriers to family progression.
In addition, they will build positive relationships with parents and children and build mutual trust and respect.
