The Neighbourhood Officer role is crucial in delivering against the vision of the Neighbourhoods Service., You are advised to read the guidance for applicants before completing the form. Working as part of one of our multi-disciplinary Neighbourhoods Teams, we are looking for exceptional individuals. Working with colleagues in your team you will lead on the development and delivery of projects within the Partnership Plan. You will be the central point of contact within the neighbourhood. You will be focused on facilitating connections; empowering communities; influencing service delivery and celebrating the joy of working in and with communities. We are looking for people with:

  • Resilience - no one day is the same and you are a person that enjoys the challenge this presents taking a flexible and imaginative approach to the role.
  • An understanding of working in a politically sensitive role, having had experience of collaborating closely with Councillors and elected representatives.
  • Experience of working in and with communities, with a keen focus on building on the strengths presented in our localities, communities, partners and individuals.
  • Excellent people skills including the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge whilst also nurturing and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Experience and/or skills in project management from inception to completion.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to write clear written reports; analyse data and gather information for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • Experience and ability to work with a broad range of professionals within the health and social care sector as well as elected members, community leaders, third sector, voluntary, community and faith sectors as well as other organisations and services.
