Full Job Description

This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. Information Systems and Support at University of Westminster delivers a comprehensive portfolio of ICT services to the University's user community of 20,000 students and staff across our London campuses. Our team is growing as we further develop our digital environment and as part of this we are looking to expand and develop the ISS Team. Join us and become part of a dynamic, growing and innovative team. As a Network Engineer, you will be an active member of the Infrastructure, Data & Telecoms team, actively contributing to the planning, installation, and maintenance of university network infrastructure services, delivered against an ITIL quality management framework. There are several exciting upcoming projects to get involved in including: entire network re-architecture implementation, Core switch replacement, Distribution & Edge switch upgrades, NAC deployment & ClearPass upgrades, wireless replacement, and new building/large space network installations.   • Experience in the development and operational support of data networks with large multi-site environments
  • Understanding of wireless networking services and systems and experience resolving common issues
  • Experience carrying out installation and cabling
  • Good working knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS
  • Some knowledge of monitoring platforms and voice technologies
