Full Job Description
We have a post for enthusiastic social worker to work in our Wirral-based Community Mental Health Teams. You will need to be a qualified social worker with an interest of working in a secondary mental health service.
We are an All Age Adult Mental Health Service.
We have been integrated for many years with our health colleagues and this provides a supportive place and multi-disciplinary team working environment.
You will provide an important and valued professional function working with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are always supported, management of risk and safeguarding is of paramount importance.
Our Trust has signed up to the Think Ahead Programme to ensure we look at the future of social workers in mental health., As a newly qualified social worker you can expect to have a capped caseload and be supported in relation to your ongoing development in the area of Mental Health. You need to have a passion/interest in mental health and there will be opportunities in the future to train as an AMHP.
You will need to be compliant with the Social Care Act, Safeguarding, Human Rights Act, Mental Capacity Act and associated Codes of Practice for this this role.
You will work with an integrated team supporting individuals with a severe and enduring mental illness. You will use social work methods to promote positive change, independence and wellbeing in accordance with assessed need, whilst promoting choice and control for adults and carers.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply legislation to practice including the Children Act 1989 and good IT skills to support accurate and timely case recordings.
You must hold aSocial Work Qualification, and be registered with the Social Work England and experience of working.
