Full Job Description

This role is working across our 3 units in the Warwickshire Cluster. Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare? We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to join the clinical team in our Warwickshire Cluster - working hours per week flexibly on Mon, Weds, Thurs & Saturdays. This role covers our units in Nuneaton, Stratford & Coventry. About the role : As a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner you'll provide high quality clinical care to our clients across a range of BPAS reproductive healthcare services including termination of pregnancy, STI testing & treatment, contraception & vasectomy. You'll be involved in all stages of the client pathway from consultation through to treatment & will work in all areas of the unit including theatre & recovery. This role will involve providing treatment & clinical information to clients both in person & over the phone.,

  • You will work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice & the wider regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 & Health & Social Care Act as well as BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the clientunderstands her options in relation to the pregnancy &, if choosingtermination, meets the ground of the Abortion Act.
  • Provide informationon STI Testing, undertake tests and provide results and also discuss, informand confirm the clients future choice of contraception.
  • Carefully check forand implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, includingadministering medication for Medical Abortion procedures or cervicalpreparation.
  • Carry out posttreatment check-ups by assessing the physical condition of the client anddiscussing any concerns
  • Complete relevantpaperwork and in the event of post treatment problems, make arrangements withthe clinic or refer to an NHS agency if necessary.
  • To care for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments. Thiscould include general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaesthetic., References : All offers of employment are conditional based on satisfactory pre-employment checks.     You'll be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife (practising) with active NMC registration. You'll have clinical practice experience of at least 12 months & have a keen interest in sexual health & reproductive healthcare. Clinical knowledge & experience of safeguarding & Fraser / Gillick competencies are essential for this role. With excellent interpersonal, communication & listening skills you'll be adept at caring for clients in a compassionate & empathetic way. You'll also be comfortable using IT & Microsoft Packages including Outlook, Word & Microsoft Teams.,
  • Sound & accurateadministrative competence with attention to detail
  • Gynecological nursing experience or relevant specialty , sexualhealth, contraception
  • Venepuncture / cannulationskills, Essential
  • Minimum 12 months clinical practice experience
  • Experience of general nursing or midwifery.
  • Experience completing client documentation and working within guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH requirements and infection control
  • Desirable Gynaecological nursing experience or relevant speciality sexual health, contraception Qualifications Essential
  • Registered Adult Nurse level 1 / Registered Midwife (practising)
  • Active NMC registration and valid PIN

  • Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday - Nuneaton
  • Locations : Nuneaton will be your base unit with mileage paid to the Coventry and Stratford site as per the expenses policy.,
