We are currently looking for a passionate individual to join us as our Nursery Leader at ShebbearCollege. With our nursery opening in April, we are seeking an experienced practitioner to helpestablish our provision as the best in the area.Shebbear College is a small independent day and boarding school of around 300 pupils, for boys andgirls aged from 2 - 18. Set in 85-acres of countryside between Dartmoor and Exmoor, it is an idylliclocation in which to work. Class sizes are smaller than average throughout the school and we prideourselves on knowing every pupil as an individual, recognising their potential and helping them toachieve their best, whatever that may be. This is what makes us special and stands us apart fromother schools.We are looking for a Nursery Leader who can be influential in the progress and development of thenursery. Linking closely with the school you will play a key role in the development of our pupilsensuring a happy and successful start to their educational journey. You will be heavily involved in theday-to-day running of the nursery as well as involvement in the financial operations, recruitment,training and development of staff.We are looking for a fantastic nursery leader who can;
- Demonstrate excellent practice in delivering the early years curriculum.
- Promote the values of the nursery to all staff, parents and children.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all staff.
- Maintain accurate records including occupancy to ensure growth and development.
- Train and develop all staff to fulfil their potential. As our Nursery Leader you should be passionate about all areas of children's learning., You will be involved and supported by the Inspired Learning Group of schools and Nurseries. Withtermly nursery meetings, you will meet and share best practice with other nursery leaders. In returnwe will offer you a friendly, welcoming place of work, a great team of staff and pupils who are wellbehaved and engaging.
- Full and relevant minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification
- Current Paediatric First Aid
- Have a minimum of 3 years recent experience, working in a Nursery setting, ideally already in a Nursery Leader role
- Great passion for child development and a good working knowledge of the EYFS 0-5 years
- Experience of working in a management role, mentoring and leading staff
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted statutory guidance
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
- Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
- Ability to deliver a high standard of childcare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work productively with pupils, colleagues, parents and outside agencies
- Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
- A fantastic understanding for how a Nursery works.
- Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively in a team
Salary up to £27,000 and will be dependent on experience and qualifications - Annual salary reviews
