Full Job Description

We are recruiting for an Occupational health Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will provide a range of services which protect and promote the health and wellbeing of people at work. You will promote and maintain high standards of health and safety amongst staff in line with legislation, national guidelines and local policy and work in partnership with the Health at Work team to provide evidence based impartial work health advice to managers and employees. You will develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other teams such as Infection Prevention and Control, Human Resources, Health and Safety and Training. You will participate and promote new health at work initiatives and developments in practice, contribute to the development and implementation of agreed health at work policies, procedures, protocols and standards of practice. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us., Undertake assessments and provide health at work advice to management for potential new staff following an offer of employment. Ability to accurately assess occupational immunisation requirements in accordance with national guidelines. Undertake the safe collection of appropriate blood samples. Administration of occupational vaccines in accordance with Patient Group Directions. Participation in the health surveillance of staff potentially exposed to hazards in the workplace through programmes such as immunisations, skin health assessments, hearing tests, eye sight tests, and lung function tests. Offer telephone work health advice to employees and managers with support from a Health at Work Advisor. Provide support and advice to staff following an injury at work such as a sharps injury or moving and handling injury. Supports the employee and manager in advising on immediate actions required, undertaking risk assessments, identifying lessons learnt and recommend appropriate follow up. Provision of advice to protect and promote musculoskeletal health, undertaking appropriate referrals for occupational physiotherapy where required. Able to offer appropriate support and advice to employees experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues. To signpost to ongoing sources of support. Participation in the planning and delivery of health and wellbeing promotion events and initiatives.
