Full Job Description

Sunflower House Tier 4 Inpatient Unit is seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team of multi-disciplinary practitioners. Working as part of the community division at Alder Hey., This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with an interest and experience in working with young people with a range of complex needs.

The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery and coordination of a high quality Occupational Therapy service for Children and Young People who are inpatients at Sunflower House. The post holder will formulate individual treatment plans, set clear goals and outcomes based on clinical reasoning skills and provide a range of specialist individualised therapeutic interventions to support Children and Young People open to the service.

The post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner within Sunflower House, managing own caseload and being responsible for the delivery of therapeutic interventions within the defined areas of the service., and willprovide consultation and supervision to team members

About the team: Sunflower House (SFH) provide support and treatment to children and young people with complex needs from across the country as well as supporting their parents and carers as part of the recovery and care plan. Liaising with relevant professionals from SFH as well as a range of professionals including school, social care and other health professionals internally and externally to the Trust.

This is a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, nursing, assistant practitioners and healthcare assistants. The unit is based on site at Alder Hey.

Refer a friend - Alder Hey:Successful candidates who are introduced to the trust by existing staff members will receive £1000 after completion of six months in post.Please include the name/Alder Hey email for your friend in the additional information section of your application.This will be paid in two parts, £250 in first month pay on commencement in post, and £750 on completion of six months.

Accommodation:Alder Hey will support the cost of accommodation for up to 3 months from the date of employment (up to £500 per month). The cost is to be paid by the staff member and reclaimed as expenses.
