Full Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior, experienced, operational manager to further develop their strategic thinking and leadership skills as the Operations Director (OD) for the Older People's and Adult Community Services (OPAC) Clinical Directorate at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), working directly with the Chief Operating Officer.

The OD role is a visible leadership position providing operational oversight of OPAC, to maintain quality of care, safety, patient experience and flow, ensuring the delivery of activity and outcomes within the budgeted resources available. The role will ensure that the OPAC services meet the needs of the changing demography of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough population and offer equal and equitable access to service users and offers equal and inclusive opportunities for the workforce.

OPAC directorate incorporates Older People's Mental Health Inpatient and Community care including functional and organic wards, Memory Assessment Service, Crisis Rehabilitation & Home Treatment, Countywide Unplanned Care services, Community Physical Health Nursing, Therapy and Specialist Services for adults and older people, and the Windsor Research Unit. These services are commissioned by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board, Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council respectively under Section 75 Agreement, and other external partners.

1. Be accountable for the performance management of OPAC.
2. Be responsible for the development and delivery of operational delivery plans within the Directorate.
3. Work alongside clinicians, engaging widely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver optimal services for patients and other stakeholders.
4. Facilitate the design and development of clinical pathways.
5. Lead and support the planning, development and implementation of service transformation and improvement.
6. Participate in long term planning and strategic projects for CPFT to ensure OPAC services are considered and that there is long term sustainable model.
7. Promote a data driven approach and ensure sufficient and effective use of data to monitor performance and to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
8. Ensure there is proactive management of risk and co-ordination of all responses to patient complaints in a timely way.
9. Ensure that OPAC services meet the needs of the changing demography of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough population, offer responsive, equal and equitable access to service users and offers equal and inclusive opportunities for the workforce.
10. There is a requirement to participate in CPFT's Director on call rota.

With significant existing senior management experience in a complex healthcare setting, the successful candidate will need a track record of delivering high quality clinical services, leading and managing service redesign and performance management.
