Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within the Trust to join the Oral and Maxillo Facial (OMFS) Department from September 2025 until September 2026 on a fixed term contract as a Trust Doctor., The post is centred on Sunderland Royal Hospital. The department overs both elective and 'on call' commitments to hospitals south of the Tyne, including Shotley Bridge, South Tyneside and University Hospital of North Durham. It may be very occasionally necessary to visit hospitals in the surrounding area for surgical lists and to attend emergencies. The clinical work will include:
- Theatre Lists.
- Outpatient clinics.
- Ward work to provide care for pre & post-operative patients.
- Medical Examination of Patients.
- Attending to emergency patients presenting to A&E in Sunderland.
- Dento-alveolar and minor oral surgery.
- 1:7 on call cover including cross cover with ENT during out of hours on a joint rota.
Applicants should possess BDS or equivalent dental qualification as recognized by the GDC, hold full GDC registration.
