This is a dynamic role with the opportunity to work across other Trust sites as needed. We offer Paediatric Crisis SIM courses, APLS training, and a variety of professional development opportunities. Plus, our dedicated Paediatric ED Practice Development Nurse is here to support you every step of the way.

  • will be professionally accountable for their standards of professional practice as set by the NMC Code of Professional Standards of practice and behaviour and relevant professional guidelines
  • will undertake the nurse in charge role for the department
  • will supervise, support and educate other team members, including nursing and medical students
  • will ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance patient experience.
  • will ensure the promotion and implementation of trust policies and the effective delivery of organisational objectives.
  • will promote the Trusts' visions, values and divisional objectives

Key Responsibilities
  • Professional Leadership: Uphold the highest standards of practice in line with the NMC Code and relevant professional guidelines.
  • Department Oversight: Take on the nurse-in-charge role, ensuring smooth and efficient departmental operations.
  • Mentorship & Education: Supervise, mentor, and educate team members, including nursing and medical students.
  • Patient Care: Deliver safe, effective clinical care while enhancing the overall patient experience.
  • Policy Implementation: Promote and enforce Trust policies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Championing Excellence: Advocate for the Trust's vision, values, and divisional objectives, inspiring the team to excel.
