Full Job Description

This job is a fantastic opportunity to care for children within our acute 16 bedded ward. The ward cares for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. Within the general acute ward we care for medical, surgical and orthopaedic patients,whilst also offering experience with complex paediatric patients, diabetes, respiratory and other complex medical conditions. The post will involve working across the general ward and our 5 bedded assessment unit, as well the opportunity to work in our emergency department Education is supported by nursing team, practice development team, medical team and clinical nurse specialists

  • To provide child centred, evidence based, high quality care to children and their families in the acute paediatric ward setting.
  • To implement and evaluate family centred care and to be responsible for the delivery of care and assessment, development and evaluations of individual programmes of care
  • Safeguard all children
  • To take delegated responsibility for children working as part of a team to ensure care delivered is to a high standard
  • To be responsible for mentoring pre-registration students
