Full Job Description
We have a great opportunity to join our Finance department here at NFU Mutual as an Actuarial Analyst on a 1 year fixed term contract. This opportunity is for a University undergrad student who is currently doing an Actuarial Science or Mathematical subject and wants to do a year in industry as part of their degree or wanting to take a year out to gain first-hand experience. You'll be able to gain experience of actuarial work in practice, covering a variety of tasks and the chance to meet and understand the work of other teams in the department. This is a great opportunity to gain insight into an Actuarial career and you will be a valued member of the team. You'll gain experience in assisting in the delivery of short term tasks and the opportunity to identify improvements about data analysis techniques. Through the support of the team you will collect, check, and analyze data to allow it to be used in actuarial calculations. Your role will cover a wide range of actuarial tasks from assisting in the calculation of quarterly reserves for our business to creating MI to investigating anomalies and recommending amendments as part of the data cleansing process. This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. As someone who is passionate about maths, you'll have a genuine passion and career aspirations to work in the Actuarial field. You will have an inquisitive mindset, be proactive and be a good problem solver, as well as being particularly good with numbers. You'll also be confident in Microsoft packages and in Excel. To join our team, you'll also be or have;
- Able to communicate clearly & confidently with all levels of stakeholder
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, and able to multi-task
- The ability to simplify complex information
- Maths A level at A or A. At least two other A-levels at grade B or above
- Working towards an honour's degree (2:1 or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or another degree with significant mathematical content
