Full Job Description

Provide executive support to the Assistant Directors for legal within our Professional Regulation Directorate, This is an exciting opportunity to be a paralegal for the Assistant Directors (Legal) of Professional Regulation. This is a new role and will be key to supporting the management of legal risk and developing legal services in the Professional Regulation Directorate. The role will involve a combination of legal research, advice and executive support. You will be expected to work with the Assistant Directors to manage their time and priorities so that they can focus on strategic legal issues that affect the operational delivery of legal services in the Professional Regulation Directorate and ensure they are prepared and supported to facilitate effective delivery of their portfolio and corporate responsibilities. The Assistant Directors (Legal) have oversight of some of the most complex, high profile and organisationally critical casework, including matters linked to Public Inquiries, Inquests, high profile criminal and civil investigations.

You will be able to balance the demands of strict deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. Initiative and forward planning is needed to anticipate needs and address these in a timely manner. You will have substantial administrative experience including being able to demonstrate proficient IT skills and efficient diary management. Crucial to success in this role will be the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and tactfully with customers and colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally.
