History is a popular subject, and our students achieve consistently good results at GCSE and A level. Due to a growing department, a part-time teacher of history is required from September 2025. An ability to teach history and politics at A level would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be committed to inspiring young minds, fostering a love for History and have confidence in bringing the subject to life by using a diversity of teaching methodologies, as well as developing specific historical skills relating to explaining points of view and evaluating sources. Applicants will need to demonstrate strong subject knowledge, contagious enthusiasm for their subject and an effective, nurturing teaching style.

This position would suit an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an ECT looking for excellent support and development opportunities.

History is taught in the historic mansion building. The successful candidate will join a friendly and welcoming department, supported by a strong team of science technicians.
