The role of Peer Support Worker has been developed to specifically utilise the skills of people who have lived experience of having received Secondary Care Mental Health services. Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, Peer Support Workers will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. To offer support and guidance to Service users experiencing mental health problems impacting on their life and well being. To offer companionship, understanding and establishing a caring, professional relationship to improve individuals socialisation and psychological resilience for those service users with a chronic illness or those needing support in recovery. We have a number of roles across various locations and due to the nature of the locations majority of these roles will require you to hold a full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicleMain duties of the job The successful candidate will offer support and guidance to Service users experiencing mental health problems impacting on their life and well being, offering companionship, understanding and establishing a caring, professional relationship to improve individuals socialisation and psychological resilience for those service users with a chronic illness or those needing support in recovery.   • Establishing supportive, positive and respectful relationships with all people you come in contact with.
  • Providing peer support, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Helping people identify recovery goals themselves.
  • Supporting service users to identify and overcome fears within a relationship of empathy and trust.
  • Undertaking appropriate administrative duties for delivering effective and timely care, including updating patient records.
