Personal Assistant D859

A personal assistant is required to support an older lady to continue to be happy and well in her own home. Currently her daughter is her full-time carer, so the job will enable her to have some time away from the house.

The role will involve: helping to provide nourishing meals, maintaining a clean, peaceful and comfortable living environment, doing the laundry, supporting well-being through social interaction and creativity, attending appointments and going out for occasional meals and drinks in cafes.

The position may suit somebody who is retired or semi-retired who lives in the Filey area, or someone looking for part-time work. We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate, self-aware and professional. Experience of working with people with a cognitive impairment would be beneficial. A willingness to learn from Teepa Snow's approach to being a care partner would be helpful, as would an interest in Dale Bredesen's work.

Mutual flexibility with days and hours is an option. Roughly 4-8 hours per week over 2 days to begin with (possibly Wednesday and Thursday) potentially leading to more in the future. Occasional weekend and holiday cover would be needed.
