Full Job Description
Personal Care Assistant required near North Walsham. The individual will be joining a team working to care for a man with a range of needs in his own home. The role will involve personal care, including hoisting, showering, dressing, application of medicine, and continence management. The team and employer are looking for hard-working, dedicated, and caring individuals happy to help the employer lead a more independent life. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Personal Care and support; including washing, dressing, eating and going to the toilet.
- Support to organise and administer medication.
- Support with daily living activities
- Ensuring safety and wellbeing of employer
- Effectively supporting the employer to become independent
- Some light cleaning
- Meal preparation
Easy going individual with a good sense of humour - Comfortable with dogs
- Effective Team Worker
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Willingness to learn and be adaptable Desirable Requirements
- Clean driving licence
- Care experience in previous role, however this is not essential as the individual will be, Experience with spinal injuries and physiotherapy will be desirable but not essential
£12.50 per hour rising to £13.50 per hour after successful probation period. Up to 30 hours available Required to work part of every other weekend, - Wages will be £12.50 rising to £13.50 after completion of a successful probationary period. Bank holiday shifts will be paid by time and a half.
- Flexible shift patterns are available: Approximately 6 hours in length and will generally be 8am - 2pm; or 2pm - 8pm. Candidates will be expected to work two weekdays and one weekend shift per week as agreed with the employer. Night shifts are also available
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- An Enhanced DBS (criminal records) check is required for this position, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- This post is subject to a probationary period of three months.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
