Full Job Description

Working within the Virtual School, manage and maintain an effective and efficient system to ensure that the Council are fully compliant with Statutory Guidance and best practice relating to Personal Education Plans for Looked After Children. To manage the systems and quality assurance process relating to Personal Education Plans working closely with and supporting all relevant partners as required.,

  • To manage the ePEP system, ensuring all relevant education information is up to date and maintained centrally.
  • To lead and manage the PEP Quality Assurance process, maintaining accurate records and tracking and providing relevant reports.
  • Develop and deliver high quality training for all relevant partners to support them to fulfil their role and statutory duties in relation to PEP review and completion., This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS (and a Certificate of Good Conduct where you have lived abroad for 12 months or more in the last 10 years).

  • Experience of and an excellent understanding of the educational needs of children who are in care and the skills to work with a range of professionals to ensure these needs are identified and met
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively advise and support partners, with confidence to challenge where appropriate
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills will be needed to monitor and maintain core information systems with the ability to produce concise data and reports
