The Council is recruiting for a Pest Control Officer to join our busy pest control team to carry out pest control treatments in domestic premises and some commercial work. You will be involved in carrying out pest control treatments on your own and as part of a team and will also work with other Council departments to ensure that appropriate action is being taken when required.

• A recognised training qualification(s) in public health pest control.
• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
• GCSE or equivalent in Science., The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in understandable spoken English is a requirement of the post.
• Knowledge of pest control including treatments and proofing and housekeeping measures that could be taken.
• Physical Ability to work mainly outdoors and at times assisting in lifting heavy weights.
• To be able to use computer systems and devices.
• Must have a flexible approach to working with others and with a strong sense of customer care.
• Work effectively as part of a team, and with minimum supervision.
• Good time management skills.
• Pleasant, respectful and confident manner in dealing with the public at all levels, work colleagues and other contacts.
• Willing to undertake training as necessary to ensure that the competencies necessary to deliver the service are maintained.

• Hold a current full driving licence.

  £28,163 to £30,060, Generous annual leave of between 35.5 and 40.5 days (depending on length of service), inclusive of bank holidays.
