Full Job Description
The Directorate for Strategic Planning and Student Administration invites applications to the role of Planning Officer - Business Intelligence. This role is situated within the Planning and Reporting Team and will report to the Planning Manager - Business Intelligence. The Planning Officer will support activities across the Directorate but will also have the following key areas of responsibility:
To assist with the overall development and implementation of a range of data dashboards to support strategic decision making within the institution.
To assist with the further development, improvement and expansion of dashboards once they are established to ensure that these continue to meet the data requirements of the institution.
The day to day administration and maintenance of the institution's BI dashboards.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and data visualisation skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work methodically and to the highest standards of accuracy, consistency and thoroughness. They will have a proven ability to develop detailed and effective Business Intelligence dashboards as well as the ability to analyse data and identify trends.
The role will play a key part in an exciting and fast-paced environment within the University. As such, key attributes for the post holder include: a strong track record of using PowerBI, an understanding of data visualisation best practice, and personal drive and commitment.
