Full Job Description

As a dynamic leader to oversee 24/7 operations and delivery of Core Platform Services, which includes software delivery and cloud hosting for Product, Engineering and Development teams across the organization. You will integrate software delivery and service operations to manage large-scale, fault-tolerant systems, ensuring rapid feature updates and enabling autonomous teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently without specialist knowledge. You will demonstrate proficiency in platform operations and service delivery, foster a collaborative culture, and work flexibly within Technology and across the organization. Engineering experience prior to transitioning into operations and service management is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining high-performing teams and establishing credibility through technical execution, personal development, and effective resource utilisation
  • Optimising processes, implementing solutions, and driving continuous improvement
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Implementing best practices to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Collaborating with wider technology team to create an operating model that fosters clarity and engagement
  • Accelerating software delivery by cultivating constructive relationships among teams responsible for platform services
  • Managing 24/7 operational support, maintaining a global on-call rota, and ensuring proper training and onboarding

    A proactive attitude with positive energy and strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders, present technical information, and align teams effectively
  • Proven experience managing platform operations and delivering software services in complex environments, along with a relevant degree (e.g., BSc in Computer Science) or similar qualification
  • Expertise in incident management, problem resolution, and change management, with a focus on post-incident analysis to enhance service availability and reliability
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to unite teams for incident resolution, utilising observability for root cause analysis
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset to assess operational performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions
  • Proven ability to drive automation initiatives that streamline processes, boost efficiency, and reduce manual effort
  • Capable of prioritising and managing multiple initiatives to ensure quality standards and timely delivery
  • Deep understanding of platform technologies, cloud infrastructure, and industry trends to drive informed decision-making and innovation
  • Experience designing, implementing, and optimising Kubernetes-based solutions for cloud application deployment, scaling, and management considered advantageous
