You will be working closely with the Project Manager within a mission systems team, delivering bids and projects to the customer., Thales AWS (Above Water Systems) have an exciting opportunity for a PMO Manager to join the Project Management Team providing specialised Project Controls support including the provision of accurate, integrated and meaningful bid and / or project planning and reporting.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that best practice Project Controls are deployed across bids and projects and that data from those Controls are interpreted and clearly presented as actionable information for Project Leadership and Senior Management decision making. In particular, the role holder will ensure that all Projects have a robust Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Performance Management Baseline (PMB). As a PMO Manager this will involve leading a team; balancing workload, delegating effectively, creating a strong culture of continuous improvement, innovating where appropriate, challenging the status quo and proactively identifying potential issues prior to them becoming detrimental to project performance.,
  • Providing specialised Project Controls leadership support including the provision of accurate, integrated and meaningful bid and / or project planning and reporting.
  • Ensuring best practice Project Controls are deployed across bids and projects in accordance with the defined Thales processes and that data from those Controls is interpreted and clearly presented as actionable information for decision-making. In particular, you will ensure that all Projects have a robust Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Performance Management Baseline (PMB).
  • Leading and line managing a team; balancing workload, delegating effectively, creating a strong culture of continuous improvement, innovating where appropriate, challenging the status quo and proactively identifying potential issues prior to them becoming detrimental to project performance. You will also be allocating Project Control resources, carefully balancing demand with capacity and relative priorities.
  • Identifying trends, analysis of variances and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensuring a strong focus on proactive risk and opportunity management, including identification and support to the resolution of cross-portfolio risks/issue themes.
  • Establishing and operating an appropriate business rhythm/drumbeat E.g. ETC Reviews, Schedule Reviews, Risk Reviews, Reporting Activities. As well as this, consolidate reports, ensuring that reports are issued in a timely manner, and the facilitation of Project reviews.

    You will have a strong track record of successfully designing, deploying, operating and/or improving the full range of Project Controls in a context relevant to Thales.
  • You will have a solid understanding of advanced Project Control techniques E.g. Earned Value Management and Schedule Risk Analysis, with experience of deploying these techniques for more senior positions. You will be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders in complex environments and working across functional boundaries.
