As Policy and Equalities Officer you will lead, champion and drive the local authority's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). You will use your expertise to promote positive practice, provide advice and guidance, whilst supporting the council to develop, implement, and monitor policies and practices that promote a diverse and inclusive environment for all.
Supporting our Principle Policy Lead you will share your knowledge and expertise helping to ensure the council meets its duties and commitments whilst developing key organisational strategies and policies with positive impact and facilitating collaborative networks to strengthen the organisation's understanding of key policies and strategies affecting the borough of St Helens.
Supporting the EDI conversation in our Communities
This role of Policy and Equalities Officer provides a fantastic opportunity to support the work of our Community Engagement Team through hosted events and workshops alongside community groups and local stakeholders to promote EDI across our Borough and beyond.
About You
You will have experience in an EDI role and bring a strong understanding of legislation relating to equalities, diversity and inclusion and best practices. You will have a good understanding of local authorities and bring policy development, training and implementation expertise. A strong communicator you will influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
