Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting vacancy within our Kindle team to enable us to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team. Working as part of the management team supporting the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the home and supporting the children who live at the home to experience a nurturing, caring stable home environment.

Planning the support and interventions provided to children, young people and their families so that they can achieve the best possible outcomes in life.

You will support the home to achieve and maintain high standards of care.

You will be required to respond and direct staff regarding the safeguarding and protection of children. You will be required to prepare assessments of how risks can be reduced and identify measures to be taken to reduce and prevent risk taking behaviour.

The service provides a range of interventions and practice models and implements solution focussed and restorative approaches.

The post holder will be responsible for the direct day-to-day care of children and young people within the children's home accompanied by other supportive tasks and duties.

The core purpose of this role is to proactively provide care and support for children living at the home which meets their individual needs.

Working together as a team and other agencies for children to get opportunities to achieve success.

Portfolio Leads drive the action planning, interventions and case progress for children through effective communication with a range of professionals working together to improve outcomes for children. You will be working with the manager to support the managerial tasks including supervision of children's home staff and budget management. You will be required to write reports and attend meetings; the role requires extensive communication with partner agencies and multi-agency working.

Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviours: you will be committed to continually learning & improving the way you do things to ensure effective outcomes.

You'll also be able to demonstrate experience in managing and developing staff, alongside leadership abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to have substantial experience of working with children and young people aged 10 to 18 years and their families. Significant experience of working in a residential setting on a shift basis and experience and resilience in working with children and young people with complex behaviours.

You will need to be qualified to RQF/QCF Level 3 Diploma Health & Social Care, Children & Young People's Workforce Diploma Level 3 or equivalent.
