Full Job Description

The role will include the organisation and delivery of Millwall's Plan-Do-Review process for player recruitment and individual development of our Pre-Academy players. The chosen applicant will oversee putting the coaching philosophies, visions, and values of the Academy and the Club into practice. The part-time role will involve fixed working hours in conjunction with the Academy's training and games programme.

To ensure we achieve the required criteria of the EPPP, the post will also involve administrative activities including conducting player reviews, creating session plans, and going to CPD events.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to develop as a coach in an elite environment, working with the players and helping to develop and create the foundations for the next generation of Millwall players.

Key Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

Coaching: planning and delivering of the pre-academy coaching programme. Coach and manage the team in matches, both home and away. Evaluate all coaching sessions and matches and ensure that the relevant information is recorded fully on the Club's Performance Management System.

Player Development, Progression & Retention: To compile performance reviews, in line with the requirements of the EPPP, and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required. To liaise on an appropriately regular basis with the Foundation Phase Lead Coach and head of recruitment to ensure we recruit the right player for our environment to compile an U9s academy team.

Safeguarding: Monitor potential safeguarding children risks and work with the Academy Safeguarding Officer, and the Head of Safeguarding for Millwall Football Club to promote safer working practice throughout the Academy. Understand the Academy Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

Other: Keep the Foundation Phase Lead Coach informed on all matters relating to the designated players. Be aware of the EPPP rules and requirements relating to the Foundation Phase. Attend staff meetings and CPD as required. Continually look for ways to develop and improve our coaching programme in the Foundation Phase., This document is a guide only and should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic part-time coach to join Millwall FC Pre Academy., · Must hold FA Level 1

· Desirable Fa Level 2

· FA Emergency Aid or ideally BFAS

· Safeguarding Children Certificate

· Desirable: a full driving license and have the use of a vehicle
