Principal Lawyer - Housing and Civil Litigation Team

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to manage and shape the Housing and Civil Litigation Team. The successful candidate will take pride in leading and delivering a high quality service both individually, and as part of a team, managing staff at various levels. The team has a varied caseload dealing with housing, civil litigation, debt recovery, and other matters. The successful candidate will be expected to build a high-performance culture within the team and play an important role in supporting career progression and developing public sector lawyers of the future. Duties include advising on complex matters, supporting corporate groups and senior officers, and advising elected members at committee, in a proactive and politically sensitive manner. The successful candidate will also be expected to foster excellent working relationships amongst the team and between clients and lawyers, and be the senior point of contact for client relationships and liaison. There is also an expectation to support the wider development of HB Public Law alongside other Principal Lawyers. The legal practice works in a hybrid fashion, and you will be expected to work from our Harrow office at least one to two days per week, and/or at client offices and court when required. The successful candidate will have experience of local authority housing and civil litigation work and be passionate about leading the team to achieve positive outcomes.
