This is a strategic public health role that requires the post holder to take the lead for specialist priority areas, in particular leading on spatial planning and immunisations portfolio for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan local authority areas, alongside other public health priorities in the Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team Plan 2024-2027. They will provide professional leadership and management of staff and resources, as appropriate.
The role will work closely within our strategic partnerships, including Public Services Boards and the Regional Partnership Board in delivering aspects of the Wellbeing Plans and Area Plan. The post holder will work within the NHS, local government, and third sector, private and independent sectors to plan collective public health impact. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialised advice and expertise on the development of public health strategy, policy and practice., Applicants are invited to apply in Welsh. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, with excellent communication skills, to join our busy and dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the Spatial Planning and Immunisations agenda across the Health Board area, and also ensure effective engagement with relevant national programmes. The post holder will have a proven track record of successful delivery of public health programmes, and experience of working with partners both within and outside of the NHS. They will also display an aptitude for innovation, creativity and generating different ideas for taking things forward. As a senior member of the Public Health Team, they will be expected to contribute to the development of the team, management of staff, and delivery of other identified team priorities., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum.
